Idaho: Teen birth rate

The teen birth rate is calculated by dividing the number of births to females age 15-17 by the number of females in that age group. We multiply the result by 1,000. In counties with relatively few people, a small change in the number of teen births may have a significant effect on rates from year to year.

  • The teen birth rate in 2018 was 6 per 1,000, compared to 7 per 1,000 in the U.S.. 

  • There were 211 births to females age 15-17 in 2018 compared to 784 in 1998.
