This indicator is calculated by dividing the number of primary care physicians by the total population. We multiply the result by 10,000.

In counties with relatively few people, a small change in the number of primary care physicians may have a significant effect on rates from year to year.

  • There were 5.8 primary care physicians per 10,000 population, compared to 6.3 per 10,000 in Idaho
  • There were 7 primary care physicians in Boundary compared to 7 in 2016.
